On-line literary journal with a sense of humour seek short stories and poetry

Dragnet on-line magazine (Canada) seeks poems (3 max.) and stories (1,000 words max) for their seventh issue. Deadline: October 31, 2012

Here at Dragnet we, as a rule, believe very few things. Some of these things are:

That literary writing should be as fun as it is well made. Although we’re not strictly a humour magazine, as frivolous people we enjoy work with a sense of play to it.

That fun dance parties are an important part of life and also, obviously, the best way to fund free online literary magazines.

That contributors should be paid for their work. So here’s the deal, at this exact minute the only revenue we generate is from the aforementioned fun dance parties we hold to launch issues, so until we find a wealthy patron we offer only a small honorarium for accepted work.

Full submission guidelines here.

See Brian Henry's schedule here, including writing workshops and creative writing courses in Kingston, Peterborough, Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Georgetown, Milton, Oakville, Burlington, St. Catharines, Hamilton, Dundas, Kitchener, Guelph, London, Woodstock, Orangeville, Newmarket, Barrie, Gravenhurst, Sudbury, Muskoka, Peel, Halton, the GTA, Ontario and beyond.
