Kudos to Emily, Kathleen, Evana, and Kristy!

If you’ve had a story (or a book!) published, if you’ve won or placed in a writing contest, if you’ve gotten yourself an agent, or if you have any other news, send me an email so I can share your success. As writers, we’re all in this together, and your good news gives us all a boost.

Also, be sure to let know if you're looking for a writers' group or beta readers; a notice in Quick Brown Fox, will help you find them.

Kristy & Brian at the November workshop

Hi, Brian.

I wanted to thank you for your "How to Get Published Workshop" in November, the Friday Intensive class, and your editing services. I'm very excited to share that I have signed with Olga Filina, Literary Agent and Partner at the 5 Otter Literary agency!

I've participated in many of your workshops and intensive classes in the past couple years, and these have been instrumental in getting my middle grade novel, MORTIFIED, to where it is today. I'm so excited for 2023 and what might come next in my writing journey.

Thank you!

Kristy Jackson

Note: our next “How to Get Published” workshop will be Sunday, Feb 26, with literary agent Erin Clyburn of Howland Literary Agency. Details here.

Hello, Brian:

I am over the moon. I entered “Black Bird in a Box” in the Dillydoun Short Story Prize.  I’ve made the long list. Even if I am not short-listed I’m so happy.

Thank you so much and my fellow work-shoppers from the Intensive Creative Writing class.

Update:

Brian, I received an Honorary Mention, a $50 gift as well as publication in the Dilly Doun print anthology at some future date.

A special thank you for all of your comments and suggestions – and from all my fellow classmates. Yes, they improved my story.

Hi, Brian.

I wanted to thank you for all the inspiration over the years. This is to let you know that, despite not being able to find an agent or publisher for my book even with all the ones you posted, I took the initiative and self-published it through Draft2Digital, and today is the book release day for The Jewelled Kingdom!

Thank you again. I am excited!

I’m still working on Book 2, but it is sometimes a slow process.

Hi, Brian.

I’m So excited to announce that my first YA novel called The Stones of Burren Bay, will be published by Latitude 46 Publishing in 2024. Set on a fictional bay inspired by the bays of Manitoulin Island, the story explores the journey of a girl through grief and isolation to acceptance and belonging. More to come as I embark on my own exciting journey…

Thanks so much,

Emily De Angelis
