The Brampton Writers' Guild

The Brampton Writers' Guild began in 1985 as an organization dedicated to helping established, emerging and writers-in-embryo to develop their talent, their voice and their unique style.

We are a small but energetic group with a common interest in the written word. We urge members to attend our monthly meetings to exchange ideas, views and information on markets for their work. We celebrate our successes and learn from our failures.

We encourage members to read from their work in progress and we offer peer critique, feedback and encouragement. Whatever your genre - fiction or non-fiction, poetry or plays - we extend a warm welcome. We are open to all ages, and you do not have to be a Brampton resident to belong. Our common, and primary, language is English but for those more comfortable writing in another language, bring your work and discuss it in English with the group.

The Brampton Writers' Guild plays host to Brian Henry's workshops on a regular basis. Through participation in workshops and group discussions, many of our members have found success in competitions as well as publication in hard copy and the digital world. Both the Brampton Writers' Guild and Brian work toward helping you achieve your goal of becoming a successful and respected author.

We meet on the first Thursday evening of the month, except July and August, at the Brampton Arts Council building, 24A, Alexander Street, Brampton. Please come!

  2. Is there someone that I could contact for more info? A while ago, I sent a couple emails to jwinston42@sympatico.ca but I have not received a response. Not sure if he got it or if there is someone else I should contact.

  4. I think teenagers are allowed, though I expect its mostly adults. Best to send an email to the contact person to ask.
