The Headwaters Writers’ Guild

Three writers started the Headwaters Writers’ Guild on December 9, 2003. Our writing sessions follow the late Ed Wildman’s workshops, which are based on what he learned from Natalie Goldberg (Writing Down the Bones and Wild Mind). We write from prompts and share our raw writing. We also bring work in progress or completed work and receive positive and constructive feedback.

We’re a diverse group of writers who write fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Members vary from beginners to published writers. All members share their expertise with each other. We’re delighted in our members’ successes and it’s gratifying to see how much we have accomplished in the last six years. In 2003, we were all beginning writers who were writing to find our voices. Now, our members vary from beginners to writers who have published books, articles, short stories and even Words Aloud winning poetry.

Headwaters Writers’ Guild has sponsored workshops from Brian Henry, Kathyrn Dean (Editor) and Dale Hamilton (Playwright). We have a “Writing with Style” workshop coming up with Brian and with author Jean Rae Baxter on March 13. (Details here.)
