Arsenal Pulp Press

Arsenal Pulp Press is a small independent publisher in Vancouver.  Beyond its regular publishing program, Arsenal partners with the 3-Day Novel Writing Contest to distribute the winning book.  For more about the 3-Day Novel Writing Contest, see here.

Arsenal publishes manuscripts in only the following subject areas:

• Cultural studies
• Political/sociological studies
• Regional studies and guides, in particular for British Columbia
• Cook books
• Gay and lesbian fiction and non-fiction
• Visual art
• Multicultural fiction and non-fiction
• Literary fiction and non-fiction (no genre fiction)
• Youth culture
• Health

They not considering poetry manuscripts at this time and they do not publish children's books.

The editors say:  "We appreciate your interest in Arsenal Pulp Press. Please understand that we are a small independent press that receives many unsolicited manuscripts per day, so it is essential that you know your book will suit our publishing program (see above) and that you follow the submission guidelines below. The majority of submissions we receive are good books, but just not the type that we publish; or the submissions do not follow the guidelines and therefore slow down the process, so please read carefully!

"Each submission must include: a synopsis of the work, a chapter by chapter outline for non-fiction, writing credentials, a 50-page excerpt from the manuscript, and a marketing analysis.  If our editorial board is interested, you will be asked to send the entire manuscript."
