Hi, Brian.

My YA fantasy novel, Loving Ellis, was selected as one of three finalists in a contest. By the end of the month I should receive my manuscript back with suggestions for revisions. I then have two months to make the needed changes and send it back. In mid-April, the first 50 pages are posted online for two weeks to be voted on. The winner wins a publishing contract with CBAY Books.

Thanks for all your help with my query letter and for suggesting a writing buddy. I will keep you posted.

Hi, Brian. 

I took your workshop on “How to Write Dialogue” in Mississauga some weeks ago. You suggested that the short story I wrote during the workshop might be a good fit for CommuterLit.

I edited the story a bit and sent it in on the Saturday after I wrote it, and they published it. I have a picture, a short bio and my story ... I am thrilled! There is nothing like being referred to as a Published Author! I have two more stories ready to go and will see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion. I never even thought of trying to publish short stories, but that has certainly changed.

Hi, Brian.
I enjoyed the workshop in Brampton. Thank you. Please thank Andrew Borkowski for his presentation.
I opened my email this morning for the first time in a couple of days to discover that my entry in a short story contest, “Café Traumerei” has made it into the final thirteen which guarantees publication in a print anthology this coming fall. The contest sponsor, Red Tuque Books Inc of Penticton, B.C. runs an annual themed contest. 2012's theme was "Canadian Tales of the Heart."
I thought “Café Traumerei” was the weakest of my three entries and almost did not include it. They should pass a law prohibiting writers from being the judges of their own work.
Hopefully I will see you again in the spring.

Hi, Brian.

I took your writing class in Woodstock a couple years ago. I was already published with Ellora's Cave, but another goal of mine was to be published in category romance.

Keeping your helpful tips in mind I went to work and I'm happy announce I sold two books (no agent) to Harlequin Mills & Boon Medical Romance.
It was a year of hard work and revisions, but it was worth it. I don't have release dates, but the first book is officially titled Safe in His Hands.
