Objects in Mirror by Tudor Robins (Red
Deer Press)
Fifteen-year-old Grace starts her
summer with dreams of winning horseshows dancing in her head. After years of
riding horses short on talent, or looks (or both) she’s leased a flashy,
high-performing horse and plans to jump Sprite to a slew of championship
ribbons.
Then, before she’s even had time to
celebrate her success in the first show of the season, Grace learns Sprite’s
been sold. No Sprite means no more shows for Grace, so how will she fill her
summer now?
A summer job working at the barn
seems to be the answer. If she plays her cards right, it might even give Grace
the chance to win Sprite back. And there’s the added bonus of working alongside
Matt, a talented – and very good-looking – fellow rider.
But what started as a quick diet has
gotten out of control and Grace’s extreme weight loss is threatening her
health, her relationships, and her riding.
Will Grace be able to heal herself so
she can hold onto the things that are most important to her?
