Founded in 2000, Bell Lomax Moreton represents a wide range of distinguished authors and illustrators, writing and illustrating adult fiction, non-fiction and children's books.

On the children’s side, the agency already represents author-illustrators such as Oliver Jeffers, Chris Haughton, Kevin Waldron, Jo Empson, Sophy Henn, Alex Latimer and Yokococo

Now Helen Mackenzie Smith has joined the Bell Lomax Moreton Agency as a Literary Agent and will be seeking new picture book talent for the agency. Helen brings over 17 years of picture book editorial experience to the role, having previously worked at Random House Children's Publishers and HarperCollins Children's Books.

Paul Moreton, Managing Director at Bell Lomax Moreton comments: "I couldn't be more excited about Helen joining the agency. She's one of the best picture book editors out there and she'll offer an extra level of support to our existing client base as well as attracting new talent to the agency. "

Helen Mackenzie Smith comments: "I'm thrilled to be joining the Bell Lomax Moreton Agency. I am already a huge fan of their existing authors and artists, and this role represents a terrifically exciting new phase in my career, doing what I love best: helping new picture book talent out into the world."

To submit a picture book manuscript to Helen, email the full text of the manuscript, plus sample illustrations if you have any, to: agency@bell-lomax.co.uk

See Bell Lomax Moreton’s submissions page here.
