Hi, Brian.

I tied for third place in the Burlington Public Library short story contest! They announced the winners at an event last night and said it was unprecedented but they had a tie for third place – and then it was my story, “Friday in the City” and, I don't know, some other chick. ;o)

So thank you to all my classmates  (in the Burlington Intensive course) who gave their feedback on that story (which you saw under the title "Woman without a past"). And at the event at the library, they had people reading all the winners, and the woman who read my story did a beautiful job – I wish I'd had the camera and made a video of it. I couldn't have read it like that!

I just wanted to say thanks for the great How to Get Published workshop today.  I thought you had lots of great advice!  Also, Martha Webb (of Anne McDermid literary agency) was wonderful.

Thanks so much for offer to send out information about my search for a co-writer. I'm looking for a co-writer on two separate projects:

Project #1: Legend of Claus – A fantasy Christmas novel for young people (approx 8 to 12 years old) that involves an unique rethinking of the legend of Santa Claus.  This project is in early stages and I’m looking for a writer with young fantasy writing experience/knowledge to work together as a co-writer.

Project  #2 – Set Crush – A light and a fun novel of a romance that takes place on a location film shoot.  This project is in early to mid stages and I’m looking for a co-writer to step in and work with me.

Bio:

Michael Pohorly studied Communications while playing varsity hockey at Concordia University and then moved to Vancouver to work as an Assistant Director in the Film Industry. (Credits include: The Grey, This Means War, The A-Team.)   He currently works p/t as a freelance magazine writer in Asia where he just wrote and directed a short film about a son connecting with his father in Bali.
