Sterling Lord has been around since 1952 and represents a wide range of authors, including National Book Award and Pullitzer Prize winners, New York Times bestsellers, literary and commercial novelists, politicians, scientists and noted children’s writers.

Caitlin McDonald and Mary Krienke have recently been promoted to associate agents and will be looking for new authors to build their client lists.

Caitlin McDonald grew up overseas and has a BA in Creative Writing from Columbia University. In 2011, she joined Sterling Lord Literistic and in 2013 began working as an assistant to agent Celeste Fine.  She’s recently been promoted to Associate and is looking for authors to build her own client list.

Caitlin represents both nonfiction and fiction clients. In nonfiction, she is especially interested in social or cultural journalism, anthropology and psychology, pop culture, feminist theory and women's issues, and general geek-related works.

In fiction, Caitlin is looking for adult and young adult genre fiction, primarily fantasy and science-fiction with a smart edge.

Mary Krienke

Mary Krienke grew up in the Midwest and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY. She received her MFA from Columbia University’s Fiction Program. You can read her short stories in Two Hawks Quarterly and Joyland. She also has work in Midwestern Gothic, The Dr. T.J. Eckleburg Review and (soon) in Underground Voices. 

Sterling Lord has not yet posted a bio for Mary and there’s no word on what she’s looking for but her writing may give you a clue and I thought it best to get this news up while she’s still new and before she’s flooded with queries.

Query Caitlin or Mary by mail. Include a synopsis of your work, a brief proposal (nonfiction) or the first three chapters of the manuscript (fiction), a brief bio or resume, and a stamped self-addressed envelope for a reply. Full submission guidelines here.
