It's evident that McDermott has passion for his subject material; he writes with conviction and illustrates dramatically. The stories invite you to be a part of them!

I feel for his characters in a way not usually evident in short stories. They are very real... full of sly humour and are persuasively authentic.

You're kept guessing right up until the end but are never left wanting.

The Buffalo Hunt is my favourite. Definitely worth a read!
