Paul Bresnick established the Paul Bresnick Literary Agency in 2004.  In 2013, he took over the Wendy Weil Agency and the company became the Bresnick Weil Literary Agency.

Matthew (Matt) DiGangi is the newest member of the team, and like all new agents, he needs authors. Matt is proud to be one of only a handful of literary agents in Boston, a city as rich in publishing tradition as any other.

He has ten-plus years publishing experience, having edited, anthologized, and published many books across many platforms. Matt has a BFA in English & Textual Studies from Syracuse University and an MA in Publishing & Writing from Emerson College. Find him on Goodreads for a sense of his taste in books, or Twitter (@NewOrleansNK) for a taste of his sense of humour.

“Currently I'm looking for fiction or nonfiction for adults,” says Matt. “I don't really dig on YA or children's books. I think my website bio accurately reflects my interests, but as a new agent, I'm not in the position to be picky!”

For fiction (as the website says), Matt will read anything that dots a Venn diagram in the shade between unforgettable character, unpredictable plot, and prose that really hums.

For nonfiction, he's a sucker for original research and journalistic instinct. Subjects include but are not limited to music, American history, sports, politics, weird science, food, pop/alternative culture, and video games.

Query Matt at: matt@bresnickagency.com
For fiction include first two chapters. For nonfiction include a completer proposal. Full submission guidelines here.

Brian Henry will lead "How to Get Published” workshops  in Mississauga on Saturday, June 20, again with Martha Magor Webb of the Anne McDermid Agency (see here) and in Hamilton on Saturday, Oct 17, with Rachel Letofsky of the Cooke Agency (here).
