Humber pays $100 for your work; Nonlocal pays for sci-fi; Freefall has a contest; and Halcyon wants your prose & poetry

FreeFall Magazine invites entries for its annual Poetry & Prose contest. First prize (poetry and fiction): $500 each; more prizes available. Guest Editor/Judge: George Elliott Clarke. Maximum 3000 words prose, or 5 poems per entry. Entry fee: $25 (includes subscription). Regular submissions will re-open in the new year.

The Halcyon Reader is a new online literary quarterly, currently putting together its first issue. It’s open to any piece of good writing poetry (up to 250 lines), flash fiction (under 1,000 words), short stories (1,000 – 7,500 words), novelette (7,500 – 10,000 words), essays (max 10,000 words, vidieo game reviews (max 10,000 words) or anything in between.

Digital short fiction magazine Nonlocal Science Fiction seeks stories.  “We are seeking stories both for a paying market (Nonlocal Science Fiction) and a non-paying market (the Fantastical Fiction Feature on NonlocalSciFi.com). We prefer stories longer than 3000 words for the magazine and shorter than 3000 for the FFF.

The Humber Literary Review seeks submissions of essays, poetry, artwork, and comics for its fifth issue (Spring 2016). Pays $100 each for essays, fiction, reviews, and for 2-3 poems. Contributors receive two copies plus a one-year subscription.
