Union Literary is a boutique agency with four agents specializing in literary fiction, popular fiction, narrative nonfiction, memoir, social history, business and general big idea books, popular science, cookbooks and food writing. They place projects with domestic and foreign publishers, and film and television companies.

Christina Clifford is the newest member of the team at Union Literary, and like all new agents, she needs authors.

Christina worked for many years as an agent at Melanie Jackson Agency where she represented several award-winning authors and found US homes for the works of international authors.  She has three children and lives in New York City.

Christina is looking for both seasoned authors and new voices in fiction and nonfiction. She specializes in literary fiction and has a soft spot in her heart for international fiction hailing from the homeland of authors like William Trevor, Edna O’Brien, and Zadie Smith, not to mention Rohinton Mistry, Mario Vargas Llosa and J.M. Coetzee and Nadine Gordimer.

Christina is also interested in continuing to build a narrative nonfiction list in the genres of historical biography, memoir, business, and science.

Query Christina at: christina@unionliterary.com
Nonfiction submissions should include a query letter, a proposal, and a sample chapter.
Fiction submissions should include a query letter, a synopsis, and either sample pages or a full manuscript. See Union’s submissions page here.
