Peter Knapp has rejoined Park Literary & Media after spending a year with New Leaf Literary & Media. Before first joining Park Literary, he was a story editor at a book-scouting agency working with film clients, and he continues to look for new ways to partner with Hollywood on adaptations and multimedia properties. He lives in Brooklyn with his husband.

Peter is looking for middle grade and young adult fiction.

To celebrate the fact that he’s rejoined Park Literary, he’ll be offering brief, honest feedback on all middle grade and young adult submissions he receives before Tuesday, August 16th at 5 pm ET.  These are no full critiques, just a line or two about why the project is not right for him.

To enter, send your submission to queries@parkliterary.com with the following in the subject: “Query - Peter Knapp - August 2016 Feedback Giveaway – [category + genre of your book]” (for example, “Query - Peter Knapp -  August 2016 Feedback Giveaway - MG Historical”) Include your query and the first 3 chapters of your manuscript pasted in the body of the email (as with a normal submission to Park Literary). Peter has two current wishes: “I want great YA voices. I always love contemporary or contemporary with a speculative twist. But right now I would particularly love to find inventive YA with great, cool world building.

“Also, I am looking for character-driven horror, but I am also eager to find some fun, high-concept YA. I also love at story that's unabashedly optimistic. I have a number of clients whose books have real substance, but they are so generous in their hope that even through the hardest moments, there is a loveliness and optimism that is incredibly winning. More than anything, I look to fall in love with characters, and once I do I’m glad to be along for their journey.”
