Love Letters ~ Where your fellow writers are getting published, plus beta readers wanted

Jennifer reading from Speechless
at Burlington Performing Arts Centre
Hi, Brian.
I just wanted to blow my own horn. CBC has named me “a writer to watch” (see here). Also, I'm thrilled that Speechless has been nominated for the Surrey Schools' Book of the Year 2016–2017  with this wonderful lineup!
Thank you for helping me prepare for the fame and glory! LOL!
Jennifer
Jennifer Mook-Sang’s middle grade novel, Speechless, has had several other accolades as well:
Also, Jennifer has a picture book, Captain Monty, coming out with Kids Can Press in 2017, and Jennifer will be one of the guest speakers at my Writing Kid Lit course on Tuesdays, Sept 27 - Nov 22. See here. ~Brian

Hello, Brian.
I just found out one of my short creative nonfiction pieces with be in the first issue of Blank Spaces – a new journal you featured on your blog.
Thank you very much!

For information on submitting to Blank Spaces, see here.

Hi, Brian.
My first paid fiction piece! “The Art of Rebellion” – one of four stories in the “Playa” Summer 2016 issue of 1000 Words.
I believe 1000 Words puts out two issues per year, and this is their second-ever issue. They post a photograph and invite 250-word submissions inspired by that issue’s image, of which they will choose four - a picture being worth a thousand words, get it, get it?! And they pay their authors!
I notice 1000 Words is free as part of Kindle Unlimited, if you have that or just $1.93CDN, $1.51US, or 1.03UK to purchase. (Sorry, didn’t look up any other currencies!) If you don’t have an e-reader you can download Kindle for free to almost any device or computer, I think at least, that’s how I got it for my Mac.
At any rate, for those who are interested, you can check out the Playa issue and download it here.
Cheers,

Writer to Writer
