New book: Blade and Blood by Molly Fraser (aka Barbara Wood)

Hi, Brian.
My novel Blade and Blood has been released by Solstice Publishing. When I was young, I read The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge and that book got me hooked on people and happenings in imaginary landscapes. I always wanted to write fantasy and now, I have.
What I didn’t realise was how hard it is to conjure up a different but believable world with its own customs, dress, diet, animals, and names. Especially names! Some of the names had three or four versions before they sounded right. I cringe about inventing more names as I’m currently writing two more books in the Rulers and Magians series.
Lyta in Blade and Blood is a not a traditional princess. She wears boy’s clothing, uses a blade and shoots with a bow. When her friend and mentor is murdered, Lyta discovers a plot which threatens her existence and the safety of her kingdom. She relies on her special skills and keen wits to survive. Three summers later, Lyta reluctantly becomes an adult and the ruler of Aldea. Now she must take the next step in her life and choose a suitable husband.
Like many fantasy novels, the book is a rather bulky paperback. Unless you want to use it for arm muscle development, you might prefer the ebook which is available on Amazon. It is written by Molly Fraser, one of my alter egos: Molly after my mother and Fraser my second name.
