Writing for Children & for Young Adults ~ the world’s hottest market
~ with author Laurie Elizabeth Flynn ~
Saturday, November 11, 2017
10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
London Public Library, Stevenson & Hunt Room B ,
251 Dundas St, London, Ontario (Map here)

If you want to write the next best-selling children’s books or just want to create stories for your own kids, this workshop is for you. Learn how to write stories kids and young adults will love and find out what you need to know to sell your book.

Special option: You may, but don't have to, bring 2 or 3 copies of the opening couple pages (first 500 words) of your children’s book or young adult novel (or 1,000 words if that will get you to the end of your picture book or to the end of your first chapter.) If you’re not currently working on a children’s story, don’t worry, we’ll get you started on the spot!

Guest speaker Laurie Elizabeth Flynn writes contemporary fiction for young adults. Her debut, Firsts, is out now with Thomas Dunne Books/St Martin’s Press and was nominated as a YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults pick. Her next two Young Adult thrillers will be published by Imprint (Macmillan), starting with Last Girl Lied To in winter 2019.
She is also the author of a series of short stories, The Boys Tell All, which is a featured series on Wattpad. Her other short fiction has been named a finalist for the John Kenneth Gailbraith Literary Award.
Laurie lives in London, Ontario with her husband, daughter, and the world’s most spoiled Chihuahua.
