carte blanche is a Canadian online literary journal published by the Quebec Writers Federation three time a year. They’re open to all forms of narrative: fiction {up to 3,500 words}, all kinds of poetry, photo-essays {12 photos or less}, and comics. In the new year, they will also be open for narrative nonfiction.

Night Shift Radio seeks short fiction, creative nonfiction and memoir, 7,000 – 10,000 words. Each month, one piece will receive “full cast audiobook treatment” (pays $50) and a second will be published electronically (pays $25).

Spartan is an online quarterly journal of minimalist prose. It accepts literary prose submissions of 1,500 words or less. Pays $20 for very short stories, series of micro-fictions, and prose poems.  To submit, paste the entire text into an email and send it to: spartaneditor@gmail.com 

 

The Ontario Poetry Society is seeking Pandemic Themed poetry for a contest and anthology. First prize wins $50. Fifteen honorable will all also be published and will receive a copy of the anthology. To submit, you must make a $20 donation to your favourite hospital; include a photocopy of your cheque with your submission of up to five poems . Maximum length: 36 lines, including spaces between stanzas.

The Writers Circle seeks submissions for Campfire Stories, A young Readers Horror Anthology. Story length between 500 and 7,500 words; submit up to two pieces at any given time, as long as their combined word count is 7,500 or less; stories must be previously unpublished; Canadian residents preferred; simultaneous submissions allowed, but inform them if your piece is accepted elsewhere
