Linda Leith Publishing is a Montreal house specializing in literary fiction and nonfiction written in English or translated into English. Their books in French are published by Linda Leith Éditions.

“We have a special love of short books. We like edgy subjects and original voices. What we love most are good books that might not see the light of day if it were not for Linda Leith Publishing.”

They’re seeking submissions on a variety of topics of current and lasting interest from Canadian writers or permanent residents of diverse regions and backgrounds. Like everyone else, they particularly invite submissions form “culturally diverse writers, Indigenous writers, LGBTQ+ writers, and other marginal and minority voices from across Canada.

LLP is currently considering new literary fiction and nonfiction titles in English and in translation for publication in 2024 and beyond.

For fiction, they’re looking for both novels and novellas, 25,000–80,000 words.

For their Singles series, LLP is looking for essays and other literary nonfiction 20,000–40,000 words, though they’ll also consider longer nonfiction.

For Young Adult books, they’re looking for the same “freshness, compassion, and intelligence that intrigues us in books for adults.”
