• Coteau only accepts submissions on paper, “hard copy.” We don’t accept e-mail submissions, even of queries, or electronic versions of any kind. Please don’t bother sending us a web address where we can go and check out your work. We won’t do it.

• You may send your full manuscript or a sample (3 or 4 stories or chapters; 20–25 poems), accompanied by a self-addressed envelope of appropriate size, stamped with sufficient postage, if you wish it returned should your manuscript be declined. All submissions should include a query letter with brief background of the author and bibliography. Sample submissions should include a table of contents or plot summary of the material not included.

• Please be advised that Coteau evaluates all submissions we receive, and this evaluation process typically takes three to four months from the date of submission." Full submission guidelines here.
