About the book:
Among this collection of thirteen short stories from award-winning author Jean Rae Baxter is "After Annabelle," winner of the 2010 John Kenneth Galbraith Literary Award, and "Devotion" which was a semi-finalist. In "After Annabelle," a woman looks back to the day thirty years ago when, as a ten year old, she found the remains of her murdered cousin, and in "Devotion," a man returns to upset his widow?s tranquil life fifteen years after faking his death to escape prosecution for operating a Ponzi scheme.

About the Author
Jean Rae Baxter's debut collection of short stories, A Twist of Malice, was published by Seraphim Editions in 2005, winning critical acclaim. In her stories, the conflicts, obsessions and concerns of ordinary and sometimes not so ordinary people are limned with irony and penetrating insight. Jean is also the author of three novels: The Way Lies North, Looking for Cardenio and Broken Trail, and she is a frequent guest speaker at Brian Henry's workshops. Visit Jean's website here.

If you can't make it to either of Jean's book launches, you can buy Scattered Light on-line here.

See Brian Henry's schedule here, including writing workshops and creative writing courses in Kingston, Peterborough, Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Georgetown, Oakville, Burlington, St. Catharines, Hamilton, Kitchener, Guelph, London, Woodstock, Orangeville, Barrie, Gravenhurst, Sudbury, Muskoka, Peel, Halton, the GTA, Ontario and beyond.
