Workshop leader Brian Henry will show you how to use the techniques of novelists to write memoir and family history, and guest speaker Dr. Ross Pennie will discuss how he wrote his memoir and got it published.

Exploring Creative Writing

In this course you'll explore all kinds of creative writing. We’ll visit short story writing and personal writing, children’s writing, memoir writing, and just for fun writing. You’ll get a shot of inspiration every week and an assignment to keep you going till the next class. Best of all, this class will provide a zero-pressure, totally safe environment, where your words will flow and flower.

Plotting novels and writing short stories

This workshop will show you how writers plot a novel and give you the best tips on writing short stories, where to get them published and how to win contests.  Guest speaker Lynda Simmons, author of six novels, will discuss plotting and creating a character arc.

Intensive Creative Writing
Eight weeks of creative growthFriday afternoons, 12:30 – 2:45 p.m.
First set of readings distributed April 13.
Classes run April 20 to June 15, 2012.

This course is for people who are working on their own writing. The format is similar to the "Intermediate" and "Extreme" courses: Over the eight classes, you’ll be asked to bring in four pieces of your writing for detailed feedback.
Fee: $132.74 plus 13% hst = $150
