You’ll learn how to get readers involved in your story, how to raise tension, control your pacing and keep your readers turning the pages. But you won't just hear about some of the best secrets of the trade; you'll learn how to apply them to give your own writing a sharp new edge.

Kelley Armstrong used to program computers and attend Brian Henry workshops. Now she writes international bestsellers. Kelley has hit the New York Time’s bestseller list with both her paranormal thrillers for adults and her urban fantasy for teens. Kelley's principal publishers are Random House Canada, Dutton and HarperTeen in the U.S., and Little Brown, Atom and Sphere in Britain. To date, she's published more than two dozen books, most recently Thirteen, for adults, and The Calling, for teens. She has four more books coming out in 2013.

We’ll cover everything from getting started to getting an agent, from getting your short pieces published to finding a book publisher, from writing a query letter to writing what the publishers want. Bring your questions. Come and get ready to be published!

Special Option: Participants are invited to bring a draft of a query letter you might use to interest an agent or publisher in your book. You don’t need to bring anything, but if you do, 3 copies could be helpful.
