You're invited to a book launch for "Sable Island: The Wandering Sandbar" by Wendy Kitts

Sable Island: The Wandering Sandbar (Nimbus, 2011)
by Wendy Kitts
Non-fiction children’s book for 7-9 year olds
Available October 15, 2011

With its singing sands, wandering dunes and wild horses, Sable Island is one of the most magical places in the world. Yet very few people are ever allowed to visit the vulnerable island designated a Canadian national park in 2010.

From the pirates that once preyed on travellers to the thousands of seals that come to the island each year, Sable Island: The Wandering Sandbar brings your readers up close to this beautiful, fragile place. Full of photographs, science, and history, Sable Island is an exciting look at a truly untamed part of the world.
