The Barrie Writers’ Club welcomes new members

A few members at a Monday evening meeting at Grace United Church
The Goal of the Barrie Writers’ Club is to provide a supportive environment that fosters respect, allowing members the confidence to share their work, offer insights into the works of others, and enhance their knowledge to improve their writing skills.

Meetings are held every Monday with the exception of statutory holidays. The first Monday of the month meeting is held at the Downtown Public Library, 60 Worsley Street, Barrie, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in the Angus Ross Room.

Subsequent Monday meetings are located at Grace United Church, 350 Grove Street East (corner of Grove and Cook Streets) from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Barrie Writers also sponsor workshops with Brian Henry, open to the general public as well as to club members. Check out details of upcoming and past workshops with Brian Henry here

Club membership requires an annual fee of $20, but new attendees are encouraged to come out to a few meetings free of charge to determine if the group fits their need.

For more information, email Marilyn Lamb, Community Contact, at: or access our “About” page here.

New faces and voices are always welcome.

  1. Hi

We plan to move to Barrie in the next (hopefully) 6 months or so. When we do I will be looking to join your club. I think I will attend Brian's workshop in April and hope to meet some of you then.

  2. Hi, JK.
If you'd like to reserve a spot in the workshop, just email me at:
We'd love to see you there.
