Submissions wanted for menopause anthology, poetry contests, short story collections, and good writing of all sorts

Underbridge Press wants submissions for its Annual literary magazine Joypuke (Mount Allison University) wants visceral, humorous, and powerful writing. Seeks poetry, prose, and creative non-fiction. Length: Prose – 2500 words max. Poetry – 150 lines max. Send submissions to underbridge@mta.ca

The Writing Menopause Anthology wants to make “women of a certain age” visible in all their grey-haired glory. Looking for short fiction, creative non-fiction, flash fiction and poetry. Writers can be living through it, writing through or about it, or witnessing it. The editors invite submissions to “be funny, be furious, be the eye of the storm. Be courageous and outrageous.” No how-tos or medical/quasi-medical advice. Length: 2500 words max. and up to three poems. Email submissions as Word attachments to: writingmenopause@gmail.com

Burnside Review Chapbook Competition is offered annually for the best previously unpublished poetry chapbook. Top prize is $200, plus publication.
Deadline: June 30.

Drue Heinz Literature Prize is offered annually for the best previously unpublished book-length collection of fiction. Top prize is $15,000 and publication.
Deadline: June 30.

Entries are invited for The London Magazine‘s Poetry Competition 2014. For the first time since its resurgence, the magazine is hosting a worldwide poetry competition, open for all ages. First prize: £200 (plus publications in a future issue). Entry fee: £5.
