If you’ve had a story (or a book!) published, if
you’ve won or placed in a writing contest, if you’ve gotten yourself an agent,
or if you have any other news, send me an email so I can share your success. As
writers, we’re all in this together, and your good news gives us all a
boost.
Also,
be sure to let know if you're looking for a writers' group or beta readers; a
notice in Quick Brown Fox, will help you find them.

Hello, Brian.
Hope
you’re having a great summer!! I know I’m later than promised with this
announcement, but I had to make sure to dot all my I’s and cross my T’s!
So
I’ve accepted an offer of representation from Leah Pierre at Ladderbird Literary. Leah absolutely
gets my vision for NEMEISTER, a coming-of-age book about messy teenage girls,
antics, and fending family in unexpected places.
Excited
(and nervous) for the journey ahead!!
Thank
you for all your support and I hope to see you in another class!
Cheers,
Ann B.

Note: We still have space in our Tuesday evening Intensive class for this
fall and one spot in the Extreme class (though the Wednesday, and Friday Intensive classes seem to be full). Details of all upcoming classes here.
Hi, Brian.
I am thrilled to let you know that
my essay “Stranger Danger” will be published in the Bacopa Literary Review in their
annual issue this November. It’s a story about my paranoia getting the best of
me and the somewhat successful use of technology to make it sound like I wasn’t
home alone. This is the first story I shared with you at the first class I took
from you. Many thanks for your continued advice and encouragement!
All the best,
Norma Gardner
Dear friends,
I hope you and yours are doing well! I wonder if your
skies have been impacted by the wildfires here in Canada. I hope not, but I
would love to know, so send me an email.
This is my newest essay in Huffington Post here.
I hope you enjoy it and feel free to share!

P.S. My very special thanks to my
trusty editors who read my pieces before I pitch them: Chris, Katy, Lonny &
Brian (thank you, I love you)
Hi, Brian.
Smarty Pants Magazine For Kids (Canada) has just accepted my second
picture book for publication. You critiqued this one (my anthropomorphic moose
story). Thanks.
Next week my short story “Treasures”
will be published by US quarterly magazine OffBeatReads, and they have just
asked for another of my stories for their next quarterly.
Black Harbor Press (small US
publisher) offered me a six-picture book contract, end of last summer. I am
presently working on book five. It is a humorous camping series with SEL {Social
and Emotional Learning} elements. They are slated to be published early next
summer, three or so months apart.
Lastly, on the recent twitter PBPitch, a US and Canadian publisher
(both curriculum-based) asked for one of my SEL MH {Mental Health} picture
books.
That's it. And thanks!
Suzanne Elson
