Sanford J. Greenburger Associates is one of the most well-established literary agencies in the United States. Founded in 1932 by Sanford J. Greenburger, the agency initially specialized in representing European writers in the United States and internationally. Among the agency’s earliest clients were Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Franz Kafka, and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Greenburger Associates now represents such global bestselling authors and artists as Dan Brown Robin Preiss Glasser, and Christopher Moore. The agency represents fiction, nonfiction, genre books, and original ebooks; author and artists of children’s books; and a small number of poets and essayists.

Rachael Dillon Fried has been promoted to Associate Agent at Sanford Greenburger and is seeking to build her own author list.

Rachael started her career at International Creative Management’s live appearances division in Los Angeles but then relocated to New York City to pursue a career in literary representation. She landed at Sanford Greenburger, where she assisted agent Heide Lange (Dan Brown’s agent) before becoming an associate agent.

Rachael is growing her client list with both fiction and nonfiction authors. She has a keen interest in unique literary voices, women’s fiction, narrative nonfiction, memoir, and comedy. She hopes to build long-term relationships with clients who are passionate about developing their craft and career.

Rachael is a Rhode Island native and graduate of Brown University. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, a television writer.

Chelsea Lindman also recently joined Greenburger Associates as a literary agent, and like all new agents, she needs authors.  Her primary interests include playful literary fiction, upmarket crime fiction, and forward thinking or boundary-pushing nonfiction.

Chelsea also represents a select list of children’s book authors whose stories have an emphasis on voice-driven narratives.  Most importantly, Chelsea is interested in working with clients that are looking to build a lasting relationship.

Chelsea was previously with the agency as the Director of Foreign Rights for The Nicholas Ellison Agency, a division within Sanford J. Greenburger Associates, where she worked with international publishers to nurture and develop audiences abroad for the agency’s bestselling authors such as Nelson DeMille, Sarah Dunn, Jeff Lindsay, Christopher Moore, and Alan Weisman, as well as several debut authors. Chelsea began her publishing career as an editor at Europa Editions, and is a graduate of University of California, Santa Barbara.
