BEARDS: the zine (Canada) is a one-off print magazine about beards. Seeking
fiction and nonfiction about “good beards, bad beards, beards made of facial
hair, beards made of lies.” No poetry. Must contain the word “beard” at least
once in the prose. “Must be awesome.” Payment: contributor copy. Prefers: curse
words, bait and switches, head scratchers, things under 100 words, dark dark
stories, more.
Deadline: December 31, 2013
Hello, Brian.
At Diaspora Dialogues were always looking for new
works by young writers to publish on our webzine Shorthand.
If you would be so kind as to distribute this
submissions call, it'd be much appreciated! Have an excellent day,
Rebecca

Diaspora
Dialogues Shorthand Submissions Call - ongoing deadline!
Folks
refer to you as “youth.” You’re somewhere in the age range of 16-25, love to
express yourself through writing, and have a poem, short story, play, excerpt
from a piece of creative non-fiction or novel, or a comic (or all of the
above!) to your name.
Now
what?
New
Voices, a special section
of Diaspora Dialogues’ monthly webzine Shorthand, is ready to receive
and present the writings of Toronto’s next generation of richly diverse young
writers.
Are
you one of these new voices? If so, this is your chance to be heard!
Send
us your work for an opportunity to see it published online alongside those of
established Canadian writers as well as emerging writers from our celebrated
mentoring program.
Send the submission
form and your work as 2 separate attachments via email to Rebecca at: rebecca@diasporadialogues.com
Put “Shorthand Submission” in the subject line.
