If you’ve had a story (or a book!) published, if you’ve won
or placed in a writing contest, if you’ve gotten yourself an agent, or if you
have any other news, send me an email so I can share your success. As writers,
we’re all in this together, and your good news gives us all a boost.
Also, be sure to let know if you're looking for a writers' group or beta
readers; a notice in Quick Brown Fox, will help you find them.

Hi, Brian.
I have picture book news to share. 😊
My debut picture book, Dinos Driving, will be out with Pajama Press
on August 30th. This story is for kids ages two to five who love dinosaurs and
cars. It's really a love letter to my son (now almost 6'2") who, as a little
guy, loved dinos – so much that he wore the cover off his Dinopedia.
The story is available for
pre-order, wherever people buy books. If you would be willing to share the
news, that would be great. Thank you!
Also, the manuscript I started
plotting at the Algonquin retreat at Arowhon Pines Resort was accepted for the
Pitch Wars contest, but there were no takers. I'm working on another Middle
Grade story as I can't seem to stop myself!

Dear Brian,
My Childhood Under Fire, Nadja's account of the Seige of Sarajevo which she first published at age 14 is available from Kids Can Press here. |
I would like to share my second publication in TIME magazine in less than two weeks.
I am very grateful, especially since this is a special tribute
to my mom, Jasmina.
If you missed the first essay, here it is.
And CBC
Radio and their wonderful producer Joan Webber and her colleagues have just
created a beautiful documentary about my life called "The Siege
Within."
It's just under 30 minutes and it's so tenderly done. I hope you
will find it compelling and impactful. As always, feel free to share!
My thanks again to Joan, and to my friend J. Kevin Wolfe for the
picture he took when I was 17, which is featured on their site.
Warmest wishes,
Nadja Halibegovich
