Breakwater Books, publishers of fiction and nonfiction for adults and children

Breakwater Books
100 Water Street
P.O. Box 2188
St. John’s, NL  A1C 6E6
Canada

Originally, Breakwater Books only published materials that preserved the unique culture of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Maritime provinces. Now, however, Breakwater authors come from all parts of Canada and their books address topics and themes of national and international interest.

Breakwater publishes both books for adults and children's books.  In its children's program, Breakwater publishes picture books, books for young readers, and young adult books.

For adults, Groundwater publishes a wide variety of fictionnonfiction, and various specialties such as aboriginal resources (for children and adults), cookbooks, humour, etc.

Breakwater accepts manuscripts in all genres; however, the company publishes almost no science fiction or fantasy. Query by mail, including a synopsis and the first 10 to 15 pages of your mauscript.
