A writers’ night out at CJ's Cafe ~ Here’s your chance to read your work to an audience!

CJ’s Cafe, 2416 Lakeshore Rd W, Oakville

Few experiences beat the charge of reading your own work aloud in public. Besides, it's great practice for when you’re famous and will need to give readings all the time. So take a step outside your comfort zone and sign up to read at our writer’s night out at CJ’s Café.  

And don’t sweat it too much ~ the audience will consist of your fellow writers and their friends and relatives. You won’t find a more supportive audience anywhere.

Funny or seriouss, a couple poems or a complete short story, a fragment or an excerpt from a novel ~ anything works as long as you keep it under eight minutes (absolute maximum!) And if you’re not yet ready to read, put this night on your calendar anyway, and come out to hear some great writing from some fabulous authors.

This reading night will also be a send-off for CJ Martin who will soon be closing her cafe and moving on to a new adventure. To help her on her way and to show our appreciation for hosting our reading nights all these years, I’ve arranged to have CJ’s collection of poetry, But Tonight, available for sale at the reading night. Copies will be signed by the author and are available for only $10 (regularly priced at $17.95). ~ Brian
