Paying markets for short stories, nonfiction, poetry, art on many different themes, plus pieces about reading, writing and books


Quick Brown Fox Quick Brown Fox welcomes your short stories, poems, and essays about reading, writing, favourite books, and libraries. Read a few essays on the blog to get a taste of what other writers have done (see here and scroll down). Quick Brown Fox also welcomes book reviews – or any kind of review of anything, of anywhere or of anybody. If you want to review your favourite coffee shops or libraries, babysitters or lovers (no real names please), go for it. Include a short bio at the end of your piece and attach a photo of yourself if you have one that’s okay.

Thema literary journal welcome short fiction, poetry, essays, photographs and art. Pays $10-$25 for short fiction and artwork, $10 for poetry. Sets a new theme for each issue:

Jaggery is a DesiLit arts and literature journal  for South Asian diasporic writers and homeland writers. "We also welcome non-South Asians with a deep and thoughtful connection to South Asian countries, who bring their own intersecting perspectives to the conversation. (By South Asia we mean Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, The Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.)" 
Seeks fiction, nonfiction, art,  and reviews. Pays $100 for fiction, $25 for nonfiction, poetry, art, and reviews.
