Congratulations to Stacey, Alice, Emily, Jenn, Claudette, and James!

If you’ve had a story (or a book!) published, if you’ve won or placed in a writing contest, if you’ve gotten yourself an agent, or if you have any other news, send me an email so I can share your success. And be sure to let know if you're looking for a writers' group or beta readers; a notice in Quick Brown Fox, will help you find them.

Hi, Brian.

Some time ago you mentioned Close to the Bone as a site we should look at for short stories and for publishing things we have written, and Bruce Madole from our Wednesday evening class had an interesting short story published on that site recently.

Now, the site’s published my short fiction "Prosti for Love." (Pretty much as submitted, but missing a quotation mark or two.)

I've attached the link to the story.

Thanks for your suggestion and your support.

Best regards,

James Bryan Simpson

Hi, Brian.

My short story, “Sacrifices,” has been published in blank spaces magazine. The piece is one I workshopped with the Wednesday evening class a while back and the feedback I received proved to be invaluable.

Thanks so much for offering such a safe, creative space for writers to flourish. See you soon in a workshop!

Warm Regards,

Claudette Manzanares

Hi, Brian.

The postcard fiction story that I placed as a finalist in the Writers Federation contest has been published by STORGY.

I’m just submitting a short story for the NYC Midnight contest, the 1st round.  It’s been rough but it gave me a great character for a new book!

Hi, Brian.

It's just been published – "Five Popular Book Series Your Children Should Read." This one, I'me quite proud of, and I hope some families take my advice to heart.

Hi, Brian.

Love Quick Brown Fox!!!

Just a heads-up that, after almost twenty years since I was twice published in literary fiction by Orion (now Hachette), my new speculative fiction novel, Last Star Standing, has been published by UK's Unbound!

(Am using a pen name, as litfic readers and science fiction fans might not overlap...)

All the best,

Alice McVeigh (pen name Spaulding Taylor)

Hi, Brian.

I’ve taken a few of your classes over the past couple of years. I’ve been absent through COVID, but I wanted to tell you that a piece of my writing that was honed in your class, with your suggested edits, was published in The Globe and Mail’s First Person column. My first published writing!!!

I also want to thank you for the support you gave throughout the classes  t he writerly kind and the courage kind. You made a difference for me. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Stacey Michener
