Sally at book signing |
Hi, Brian.
Good things really do come
in threes. In 2023, three of my novels are launching—which is three
more than have ever been published before!
My rom-com So Hard to Do appeared back in January.
Two more books make their debut this month, and they couldn’t be more
different. Fountain of Evil is a domestic thriller, dark and ominous. Apprentices in Magic is a middle-grade fantasy,
filled with brave, loyal girls and (how’d you guess?) magic.
Neither book sprang into life easily. For Apprentices, it took me more than five years to find a publisher.
Meanwhile, Fountain kept me up late at night for
months on end, with characters that refused to cooperate. Eventually, though,
two different USA-based publishers (CreativeJames Media in Maryland, and Moonshine
Cove Publishing, LLC in North Carolina) liked the works enough to select
them.
Of Apprentices in Magic,
Kirkus Reviews says, “The book winningly honors ‘strong female friends,’
offering an apt depiction of concerns universally felt across girlhood. These
themes are given their just due with emotionally plausible dialogue that
propels the story smoothly.”
It’s quite a thrill!
Thanks to you for all your
encouragement and wise counsel,
