You may remember that I attended two of your workshops for the Sudbury Writers' Guild. I'm excited to share the news that my story "A Last Gift" will be published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Christmas in Canada.
Thanks for supporting emerging writers!
Note: For information about submitting to the Chicken Soup books, see here.
At a workshop one Saturday you asked us to compose a short story and after listening to mine, you suggested a submit it to CommuterLit.
Here it is, my first published work. Thank you!
Read Julia’s story, “The Reckoning,” here. For information about submitting to CommuterLit, see here, and to read about their new contest, see here.
Thanks again for an excellent writing experience this summer. It was great to hear so much feedback from so many different perspectives - I found it very useful!
I wanted to let you know that I was short-listed for the Eden Mills Poetry competition. It's nice to get a pat on the back like that. Have a great next set of classes!

Writer to Writer
Dear fellow writers,
I attended Brian’s Thursday afternoon class at the Unity Church in Mississauga, and I’m now looking for a few good beta readers. My manuscript is women’s fiction relating to a LGBT youth dealing with gender identity and mental issues. It’s under 90,000 words.
And when my beta readers have their own manuscripts complete, I’ll be happy to return the favour.
I am looking to join or start-up a writers group in Hamilton. Would you be kind enough to put something Quick Brown Fox asking for writers in this area to contact me.
