A Deadly Venture is Chris Laing 's second novel in this post-WWII mystery series
featuring Max Dexter and his easy-on-the-eyes assistant, Isabel O’Brien.
Max’s artist friend, Roger Bruce, is arrested for murder. And while Max
and Isabel are tracking down the real killer, Hamilton mobsters are taking
steps to discourage them.
